hey all... my last few postings have had zero response but I am trying again anyway... this was partly my idea after all so I feel some responsibility I suppose... I am doing the life update thingy as things are going reasonably well. :-)
well workwise things are very good indeed, very happy at work where i am doing well and about to get (touch wood) a big promotion which will secure things financially at least for now. Radio is proving to be a good place for me, but I miss writing, I do... but the variety of what I'm doing is so satisfying and working witha good team... instead of just writing transport/business stories I work on such a variety of stories... politics, health, environment, tourism, serious shit like Iraq and the space shuttle, and froth like speed dating... in that sense it's a perfect job for me.
family wise, well as I have probably mentioned here at some stage my father is in terminal stages of cancer and he is at the point where they are essentially experimenting on him, but the good news is that the experiments seem to be improving his position... not that he is being cured exactly but we are looking at a long remission, we hope. I am going over to see him again next month (he is in Sydney).
my JAM website gets bigger and bigger and I am about to open a new section which will add another 20 pages or so to it but I think it will be worthwhile.
personally things are still quiet I'm afraid... but I have a feeling this will be my lucky year! feeling a bit lonely tonight hence writing this nonsense I suppose.
have finally decided to do something about my growing girth and begin an exercise regime... I am even thinking of going to the gym... have started with a series of long runs and walks... I am not likely to become a tanned Adonis but i thought maybe a thinned down version might be an improvement. Also thinking of taking up smoking just to compensate :)
and finally. much as I hate weather talk... it has to be said we are in the middle of a long fine summer here... (not as hot as Australia but then I don't know we would want that with the fire trouble they have had)
oh well that's it for now.... hope all are well :-) New Zealand will win the cricket world cup...
